Samuel & Jackie (Haupert) Langstaff
Sam and Jackie Langstaff were killed in a car accident on May 23, 2009. Jacqueline Rae (Haupert) Langstaff was born on June 19, 1979, in Forest City, Iowa. She moved to Jamaica, Iowa, in June of 1980 with her parents. In 1984, Jackie moved to Jefferson, Iowa, and graduated from Jefferson-Scranton High School in 1998. She graduated from DMACC with an A.A. degree and then transferred to Northwestern College in Orange City, Iowa, and graduated with a degree in Social Work.in 2004. Jackie has worked as a receptionist at McFarland Clinic, Mid Iowa Social Services, Genesis as Indianola Discovery Program Coordinator, and was a Program Specialist at Broadlawns Medical Center in Des Moines. She was a guiding force for launching their flower shop at Highland Park. Jackie was working towards her masters in Healthcare Administration. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Jefferson. Jackie was married to Sam Langstaff on July 22, 2006. Jackie is survived by her parents Gary and Shirley Haupert of Jefferson, IA; her brother Jason Haupert of Ames, IA; Grandfather Jay Haupert of Jefferson, IA; Great Aunts and Uncles Henry Schuller of Alton, IA, Violet Mouw of Orange City, IA, Rev. Robert (Arvella) Schuller of Garden Grove, CA, Gene (Georgia) Haupert of Lawton, OK, Bob Marilyn(Bob) Monthei of Jefferson, IA, and Pat (Clare) Book of Panora, IA; Aunts and Uncles Steve (Carla) Haupert of Jefferson, IA, Dave (Sheri) Haupert of Jefferson, IA, Arie (Nora) Reekers of Lawton, IA, Sylvia (Jeff) LeMaster of Minneapolis, MN, and Ruth (Mark) Kleinwolterink of Sheldon, IA; along with many cousins, friends and other family. Samuel Gene Langstaff was born December 21, 1978, in Muscatine, Iowa. He lived in rural Wapello and graduated from Louisa-Muscatine High School, Letts, Iowa, in 1997. He graduated from Simpson College in 2001 with a degree in Communications. Sam had worked for Nationwide and Principal in Des Moines during his career. He was a member of the Letts United Methodist Church. He married Jackie Haupert on July 22, 2006, in Jefferson, Iowa. Sam is survived by his parents Susan and Gene Langstaff of Wapello, Iowa; brothers Luke (Jen) Langstaff and their children Alex and Makayla of Elk River, MN, and Mitch Langstaff of Stillwater, OK; grandmother Dorothy Bailey of Letts, IA; Great Aunts and Uncle Betty (Jim) Houseman of Muscatine, IA, Imogene Bailey of Wapello, IA, Evon Bailey of Terril, IA, Lyle Hanft of Texas, and Doug Langstaff of Wapello, IA; Aunts and Uncles Larry(Kris) Bailey of Alaska, Karen (Dan) Schaapueld of North Liberty, IA, Dean(Molly) Langstaff of Coralville, IA and Charlotte Langstaff of Davenport, IA. Many cousins, friends and other family will deeply miss Sam. |
