Memorial Services for Charles “Chuck” Subbert, 74, of Paton, Iowa will be 10:30 am Wednesday, November 24, 2010 at Slininger-Rossow Funeral Home in Jefferson. No visitation is planned. Memorials are suggested to the family and may be left at Slininger-Rossow Funeral Home.
Charles Arthur Subbert, son of Arthur and Lillian Walther Subbert, was born January 31, 1936 at Carroll, Iowa. He graduated from Paton High School in 1954 and served in the United States Air Force Reserve.
Chuck lived in Gowrie for 5 years, and Paton for 25 years. He worked for NAPA for 30 years, and retired as manager in 1998. He was a member of the Elks Lodge. He belonged to the Bowling Association and had served as secretary of that organization.
Chuck enjoyed bowling, golf, collecting NAPA trucks and Indian china dolls. He liked camping. He especially liked spending time with his grandkids, and visiting family and friends.
Charles Subbert passed away November 21, 2010 at the Greene County Medical Center. He was 74 years of age.
Survivors include his wife, Bonnie Subbert of Paton, IA; daughters: Kim Subbert of La Crosse, WI; Jodi (Chet) Bente of La Crosse, WI; and Tracy (Jim) Potter of Fountain City, WI; sons: Terry Subbert of La Crosse, Wi; Douglas Subbert of La Crescent, MN; Jim Coil of Warner Robins, GA; David (Melanie) Coil of Indianapolis, IN; Paul (Marie) Subbert of Paton, IA; brother Jerry (Sharon) Subbert of Scranton, IA; fourteen grandkids and several great-grandkids. Also surviving is sister-in-law Sherry Subbert of Paton, IA; brothers-in-law Carl Robinson of Jefferson, IA and Dwight Robinson of Pilot Mound, IA; former wife Kay Maher of La Crosse, WI; many other relatives and friends.
Preceding him in death were his parents; brother Denny Subbert; mother-in-law Sadie Robinson; father-in-law Clifford Robinson; and brother-in-law Duane Robinson.
