Charles Ure Charles (Jorb) Norman Ure of Rippey returned to God's loving arms on December 24, 2010. He was 81.
Charles was born on a farm near Bayard, Iowa on November 21, 1929 to Walter Clyde and Nessie Glenn (Wiggins) Ure. Charles was the youngest of seven children. Charles and family moved to Cooper, Iowa where Charles attended Cooper Community School. Charles was drafted into the Korean War, where he served two years. After being Honorably Discharged, Charles moved back to Greene County and became a bricklayer by trade.
Charles met and married Helen Juanita Krause on September 14, 1954. During their marriage, Charles and Helen raised four boys in Cooper and later in Rippey. After working as a meat cutter for a time, Charles went into business for himself as a bricklayer. Charles retired around 2000.
Charles enjoyed fishing and hunting during his life, and loved spending time with his grandchildren. Charles passed away in his sleep on December 24, 2010. Proceeding him in death were his parents, two brothers, two sisters, aunts and uncles.
Charles is survived by his wife of 56 years, Helen (Krause) Ure, his four sons: Mike and wife Anya; Jack; Clinton and his fiance, Kelly Clough; and Rick and wife, Debi (Moore) Ure; grandchildren: Heather and husband Anthony Geerdes, Benjamin, Christopher, Jonathan, Jake, Nicole, Nathan, Brandon, Amanda, Justin, and Megan; one great-grandchild, Logan Geerdes; and one brother, Eugene (Deke) Ure and his wife Maxine (Wrench) Ure.
