Earl Haeberlein, son of John Haeberlein and Laura Hedges Haeberlein, was born November 24, 1927 in Carroll, Iowa.  Earl attended school in Scranton and graduated from Scranton High School in 1945.

Earl farmed south of Scranton.  He was a member of the St. Paul Catholic Church in Scranton, Iowa.  He was also a member of Farm Bureau and received the Century Farm Award in 2009.  Earl died at his home on November 19, 2010.

Earl was preceded in death by his parents and a brother Gerald Haeberlein in 1996.  He is survived by cousins Donna Blair and Horace Hedges both of Jefferson, other relatives and many friends.

Graveside services were held 2:00 pm November 22, 2010 at the Scranton Township Cemetery in Scranton, Iowa.  Slininger-Rossow Funeral Home in Jefferson was in charge of arrangements.
