Funeral Services for Ivan Venteicher, 79, of Bagley will be 1:30 pm Saturday, January 30, 2010 at Slininger-Rossow Funeral Home in Jefferson.  Interment will be in the St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Jefferson, Iowa.  Visitation will be after 11:00 am Friday, January 29, 2010 at Slininger-Rossow Funeral Home with the family present to greet friends from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm.

Ivan is survived by his wife Glenda of Bagley; his daughter Patricia Kelsey of Bagley; his sons Michael Venteicher of Jamaica and Daniel Venteicher of Bagley; and a brother Francis Venteicher of Jefferson.

Ivan Herman Venteicher, son of William Herman Venteicher and Frances Fossing Venteicher, was born July 2, 1930 in Carroll, Iowa and was baptized at St. Mary’s Church in Willy, Iowa.  Ivan was the oldest of five children.  He died January 26, 2010 at the Greene County Medical Center in Jefferson, Iowa at the age of 79 years old.
 
Ivan lived around Willy, Iowa until he was six years old.  After a house fire in 1936, the family moved to Scranton, Iowa until 1939.  They then moved to Cooper, Iowa where Ivan graduated from High School in 1949.  After high school, Ivan enlisted in the United States Army, where he served two years during the Korean Conflict from 1951 to 1953.  After he was honorably discharge from the service, Ivan returned to the Carroll area where he lived and farmed.

On May 25, 1954, Ivan was united in marriage to Glenda Dawson from Bagley.  They were the proud parents of three children Patricia Jane, Michael Ivan and Daniel Gene.  In 1962, the family moved to the Bagley area where Ivan farmed and also did some custom farming and hired hand work.  He did a lot of custom bailing and loved to raise livestock.  He enjoyed his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.  He also liked to entertain his friends for dinner, cook outs and coffee.  Ivan enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping, boating and helping his neighbors.

Ivan is survived by his wife Glenda Venteicher of Bagley, IA; his daughter Patricia Kelsey of Bagley, IA; his sons Michael (Mary Jane) Venteicher of Jamaica, IA and Daniel (friend Debbie) of Bagley, IA; his brother Francis Venteicher of Jefferson, IA; his grandchildren Monica Kelsey, Joe Venteicher, Mitch Venteicher, Mindy Venteicher, Justin Venteicher, Jinny  (Shane) Coil, Kali Venteicher, Lex Venteicher and Jamie Venteicher, step grandchildren Tracy Harris and Michele Harris; great grandchildren Madalyn Kelsey, Sean Coil, Alec, Gracie and Erick.

Preceding Ivan in death are his parents, sister Velma; brothers Gene and Marian; brother-in-law Norbert Kitt; sisters-in-law Wanda Allen and Vivian Rassmanson.

The family would like to invite everyone to a time of lunch and fellowship at the Bagley Community Building following the service at the cemetery.
