Funeral Services for Judy Hoskins, 69, of Jefferson will be 11:00 am Wednesday, April 21, 2010 at the First Presbyterian Church in Jefferson.  Interment will be in the Jefferson Cemetery, Jefferson, IA.  Visitation will be after 1:00 pm Tuesday, April 20, 2010 at Slininger-Rossow Funeral Home in Jefferson with the family present to greet friends from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm.  Memorials are suggested to the Greene County Medical Center or the First Presbyterian Church and may be left at Slininger-Rossow Funeral Home.

Judy Zunkel was born September 24, 1940 to Royal and Pearl (Lingren) Zunkel of rural Boxholm.  Judy attended school at Boxholm through elementary.  Judy and her parents moved to Ogden where she graduated high school at the top of her class.

In June of 1959, Judy met Warren Hoskins on a blind date in Ogden.  They were engaged on her birthday and married on Valentine’s Day of 1960.  Two sons, Kris and Korey, soon followed.  In the spring of 1969, Warren and Judy moved to their farm north of Jefferson, where they raised their family.

Through the years Judy has been active in her community.  Judy was the leader of the Hardinettes Girls 4-H club.  Judy judged at the Greene County Fair for many years.  Warren and Judy made it to 30 consecutive years of the Iowa State Fair.  Judy was a proud grandmother to five 4-Hers and two future 4-Hers.

Judy was a Deacon at the First Presbyterian Church in Jefferson.  She was a Sunday School teacher for many years.  Judy was also a member of the Hardin-Bristol Arts and Crafts Club.

Judy and her family enjoyed camping.  Judy enjoyed sewing, crafting and gardening.  She made many treasured gifts for family and friends.

Judy was preceded in death by her parents, Royal and Pearl Zunkel; her parents-in-law, Roy and Myrtle Hoskins; and many of her aunts and uncles.

Judy is survived by her husband of 50 years, Warren.  Her sons and their wives, Kris and Billie Jo of Jefferson and Korey and Jenny of Ogden; her seven grandchildren:  Isaac, Tyler, Adam, Kody, Kacie, Denver, and Quintin; an Aunt Vera Lingren of Ogden; her brothers-and-sisters-in-law: Wayne and Joanne Hoskins, Wendell and Darlene Hoskins, Wanda Hade and Gary Kaehler, and Wilma and Clarence Meinecke.
