Funeral services for Kenneth Moranville, 100, of Jefferson, will be 1:00pm Sunday at Trinity Lutheran Church, Jefferson.  Interment will be in Maas Cemetery, north of Ogden, Iowa.

Visitation with the family begins at 12 noon Sunday at Trinity Lutheran Church in Jefferson.

Kenneth Linden Moranville, son of Henry and Blanche (McCallan) Moranville, was born July 13, 1910 at Dana, Iowa and passed away September 2, 2010 at the Greene County Medical Center in Jefferson, Iowa.  He was 100 years of age.

Kenneth attended the Dana School, graduating in 1928.  He served four years in the South Pacific in World War II with the 40th Infantry, Bismarck Arch, New Guinea, S. Philippines and Luzon.  He was awarded the Purple Heart in Luzon, and was in Korea when the war ended.

Kenneth was united in marriage to Luella Juhl on March 11, 1944 at Camp Wolters, Texas.  In 1945, Kenneth was honorable discharge from the United States Army.  He and Luella made their home in Dana, Iowa, where they owned an operated the town’s gas station.  In 1947 they became the parents of a son, David Kenneth.  The family moved to Glidden in 1955 and owned and operated a motel for 20 years.  Kenneth and Luella retired in 1975 and moved to Jefferson in 1996.

Kenneth was baptized June 9, 1947 at Zion Lutheran Church in Ogden. He has been a member of Peace Lutheran Church in Glidden before becoming a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Jefferson.

Preceding Kenneth in death were his parents;  his son, David Kenneth who died in 1970;  brothers: Oakley, LaVern, Donald, and Dale; and sisters: Eileen Klehm and Elna Jones.

Kenneth is survived by his wife Luella of Jefferson; brother Wayne of Grand Junction; sister Leone Peterson of Jefferson; niece Marilyn Peterson and her husband Harold of Jefferson; many other relatives and many friends.
