Funeral services for Leslie Wayne Mullins, 91, of Paton, Iowa will be 10:30 am Monday November 1, 2010 at the First United Church in Farnhamville, IA.  Interment will be in Dawson Township Cemetery, Greene County, IA.  Visitation with the family is Sunday October 31, 2010  from 3:00 – 5:00 pm at Slininger-Rossow Funeral Home in Jefferson.

Leslie Wayne Mullins passed away October 29, 2010.  He was born to Benjamin Franklin Mullins and Clara Sophia (Meyer) Mullins on September 1, 1919 at the family farm in rural Paton.  Leslie graduated from Paton High School. 

On April 14, 1940 he was united in marriage to Elva June Vought.  They were the parents of four daughters and one son.  Leslie and Elva June became a team who lived and worked on the same farm together for 70 years.  He loved his family, their home, caring for the farm, their garden and flowers.
               
Leslie was a Sunday school teacher for forty years and served in the church in many other capacities.  He loved working with wood and made many things for the family and friends, and he also made the cross for the front of the sanctuary at First United Church.
               
Preceding Leslie in death were his parents, wife Elva June, brother Lewis, brothers-in-law Verlin Bauer and Lawrence Knapp; sister-in-law Fern Vought, and two grandsons, Blake Fox and David Chappell. 

He leaves to mourn his passing his children: Janice (Jim) Gilley of Grand Junction, IA; Joyce (Stanton) Long of Sigourney, IA; Marilyn (Francis) Cody of Griswold, IA; Jolene (Chuck) Miller of Bellevue, NE; and Derwood Mullins of Paton, IA.  His love extended to 14 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren;  sister, Vera Bauer of Gowrie; sisters-in-law Eva Mullins of Paton and Ethel Knapp of Fulton, IL; other relatives and friends.
