Funeral Services for Louise McNeill, 92, of Panora, formerly of Jamaica will be 2:00 pm Monday, December 27, 2010 at Slininger-Rossow Funeral Home in Jefferson.  Interment will be in the Richland Township Cemetery, Guthrie County, Iowa.  Visitation with the family will begin at 1:00pm Monday prior to the funeral service. 

                                                                     Obituary of Louise H. McNeill

Louise Hilda McNeill was born July 28, 1918 in Sioux City, Iowa.  She was the daughter of Gustave and Sophi Berhens Kurschner.  Louise attended school in Sioux City.  She worked as a waitress.

On March 2, 1942, Louise was married to Lloyd McNeill in Milan, Missouri.  Lloyd entered the Air Force on March 18, 1942, so Louise lived in Jamaica, Iowa during his time in the service.  Lloyd joined her there following his honorable discharge.

The couple lived in Jamaica until 1948.  Lloyd was employed with Denver / Chicago Trucking Company and the company moved Louise and Lloyd to Cedar Rapids for a year, then to Omaha, then back to Cedar Rapids. Eventually they were transferred to Denver, Colorado.  When Lloyd retired in 1973, Louise and Lloyd moved back to Jamaica, Iowa.

Lloyd died in August of 1997.  Louise remained in her home until 2003 when she became a resident of the Panora Nursing and Rehab Center in Panora.  There she died December 23, 2010 at the age of 92 years.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Lloyd; nine sisters, and one brother.  Surviving are nieces and nephews.
