Neva D. Tronchetti, 80, of Jefferson, died March 1, 2010, with Iowa Hospice Care at The New Homestead in Guthrie Center, Iowa.
           
Neva Doris Herriott was born November 2, 1929 in Guthrie County, Iowa, the daughter of Theron and Gladys (Williams) Herriott.  Neva graduated from Casey High School in 1947.  Neva received her teaching degree from Iowa State Teacher’s College (now UNI).  She taught in Guthrie County Schools and she taught 4th grade in the Jefferson Community School District.  Neva was united in marriage to Louis D. Tronchetti, on February 15, 1953.  They lived in Jefferson and then moved to a farm north of Jefferson in 1954.
           
Neva was a wonderful wife, mother, and homemaker.  She was also very involved in the work and management of Tronchetti Farms.  Neva enjoyed working outside with the livestock and crops; she drove tractors and she drove trucks hauling grain to the elevator.
           
Neva enjoyed coffee with friends.  Some of her volunteer hours were spent with Dawson Charities and the Greene County Extension Council.
           
Neva was diagnosed with olivopontocerebellar atrophy in 1972.  She died March 1, 2010, from health complications related to her condition.
           
Neva D. Tronchetti is survived by her husband, Louis D. Tronchetti; her sons Barry (Vicki) Tronchetti and Dan (Susan) Tronchetti; her grandchildren Megan Tronchetti, Brad Tronchetti, Laura Tronchetti and Lisa Tronchetti; her step-grandchildren Keri Wilken, Kristi Terronez, and Karla Fought; her mother Gladys Herriott; her sister Lois (Loren) Jacobson; and her nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends whom she cherished.
           
Preceding Neva in death were her father Theron Herriott; her brothers Virgil Herriott and Lyle Herriott.
           
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, March 6, 2010 at the First United Methodist Church, Jefferson, Iowa.  Burial will be at the Jefferson Cemetery.  Pall bearers are her grandchildren Megan Tronchetti, Brad Tronchetti, Laura Tronchetti and Lisa Tronchetti.  Honorary pall bearers are the students of Neva’s Jefferson Elementary 4th grade class.
           
Visitation will be after 4:00 p.m. March 5, 2010 at Slininger-Rossow Funeral Home in Jefferson with the family present to greet friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. 
           
Memorials are suggested to the First United Methodist Church, Jefferson, Iowa and Ever Greene Ridge, Jefferson, Iowa.
