Verda Eilbert, 86, of Grand Junction, Iowa, died January 13, 2010 at Regency Park Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Jefferson.  Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m.  Monday, January 18, 2010 at First United Methodist Church in Grand Junction.  The family will greet friends at the church one hour before the service, and in the church fellowship hall following the service.  According to her wishes, Verda’s body will be donated to the University of Iowa Anatomical Gift Program, with future burial in Junction Township Cemetery in Grand Junction.  Services were arranged by Slininger-Rossow Funeral Homes of Jefferson and Grand Junction.
           
Verda was born near Rippey on November 5, 1923, to William and Bertha (Kinkead) Culley.  She was a 1941 graduate of Grand Junction School.  After graduation she moved to Chicago to make her home with her brother Gerald and his family.  She worked there as a secretary for the Motorola Company for five years.  On June 16, 1946, she married Francis Eilbert, and they made their home on the family farm near Grand Junction, where they resided for nearly 60 years.  Due to declining health, they moved to Regency Park in Jefferson in 2006.

Survivors include her daughter, Cheryl (Tony) Armstrong of Pembroke Pines, FL; her son, Craig (Terry) Eilbert of Marion, IA; her daughter-in-law, Mary Eilbert of Wellsburg, IA; grandchildren: Jill of Grand Junction, IA; Jacob of St. Paul, MN; Jessica of Indianola, IA; Catie of Marion, IA; and Elyse of Suwanee, GA.

Verda was preceded in death by her husband, Francis; her son, Chris; her parents; and her siblings: Gerald, Loren, and Darwin (know as Tommy) Culley, and Nadine Wessling.
