Charles Leo Sullivan, son of John Eugene and Pauline Elizabeth Von Tersch Sullivan, was born on April 13, 1935 in Panama, Iowa.  He spent his early years in Panama and in 1942, when he was 7 years old, his family moved to Jefferson, Iowa.  He attended school in Jefferson, graduating from high school in 1953.  After graduation, he worked with his father on the farm and for Peterson Oil Company.  In the early 1960’s, Charles was employed by White Consolidated where he worked until his retirement.  At the time of his death he was employed by Per Mar Security.

On October 6, 1956, Charles married Julia Kay Sager at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Perry.  They became the parents of six children.  Charles was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Jefferson.

Charles Leo Sullivan passed away on April 16, 2008 at the Greene County Medical Center in Jefferson.  He was 73 years of age. Preceding him in death were his parents; his wife, Julia, in July 2007; two sons, Timothy Sullivan and Joseph Sullivan; 2 brothers, Phil and Jimmy Sullivan and sister, Rosemary Carey.

include 3 daughters, Maryanne Sullivan and companion, Kim Jubell, Scranton, IA; Elizabeth “Betty” Sullivan, Oklahoma City, OK; and Nancy (Mrs. Marcus) Taylor, St. John’s, Newfoundland, Canada; son, Robert Sullivan and his wife, Marcie, Jefferson, IA; sister, Elaine Wiggins, Jefferson, IA; brother, Farrell Sullivan, Jefferson, IA; 10 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.
