Funeral services for Douglas Becker, Jr., 69,  will be 10:30 AM Saturday April 5, 2008 at the United Methodist Church, Bagley, Iowa; with burial in Dodge Township Cemetery, Guthrie County, Iowa.

Visitation will start at 1 PM on Friday at Slininger-Rossow Funeral Home, Jefferson, with family visitation from 7-9 PM Friday evening.

 

Douglas Muir Becker Jr., son of Douglas and Marie Edwards Becker was born September 6, 1938 in Carroll, Iowa. Doug graduated from Cooper High School. Doug married Sandra Kay Cain on February 5, 1956. To this union 2 children were born.

Doug and Sandi farmed near Bagley until their retirement. Doug was also employed at Globe Machinery and Supply for 18 years. Doug enjoyed collecting toy and antique tractors. He also had collections of farm caps and belt buckles. Doug and Sandi enjoyed their many rides on country roads.

After a brief bout with cancer Doug passed away April 2, 2008 at the Guthrie County Hospital in Guthrie Center, Iowa. He was preceded in death by his parents. Doug is survived by his wife Sandi Becker of Bagley, Iowa; daughters Carolyn (Jim) Schoenher of Glidden, Iowa;  Cherlyn (Mark) Miner of Perry, Iowa;  grandchildren Jeremy (Melissa) Yates of Redfield, Iowa; Cara (Chad) Oberholtz of Guthrie Center, Iowa; Jenny Miner of West Des Moines, Iowa; Katie Miner of Perry, Iowa; 4 Great Grandchildren; sister Mona (Paul) Rash of Dallas, Texas; aunt Vivian Moore of Dunlop, Iowa and a niece and nephew.
