Graveside funeral services for Kathryn Loretta Foster, 90, of Twentynine Palms, CA, former resident of Greene County, Iowa, will be 1:30pm Sunday April 13, 2008 at the Scranton Township Cemetery, Scranton, Iowa.  The family will visit with friends at Slininger-Rossow Funeral Home in Jefferson from 12:00 noon until 1:00pm Sunday.

Survivors include 4 sons: Andrew (Diane) Foster of Jefferson, IA; Paul (Linda) Foster of Chelsea, OK; Jerry (Coy) Foster of Twentynine Palms, CA; and Donald Foster of San Bernardino, CA; 11 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great-granddaughter.

Memorials are suggested to the Scranton Church of Christ.

Kathryn Loretta Foster was born April 18, 1917 in Greene County, Iowa, the daughter of John and Garnett (Tripp) Clark.  Kathryn graduated from Dana High School and AIB in Des Moines.  She married Paul William Foster and lived in the Scranton area. 

She loved family, sports, writing poetry, and growing flowers.  In high school, she was an outstanding basketball player, going to the Girls’ State Basketball Championship with her sister, Berniece.  Kathryn also played basketball for AIB while attending school in Des Moines.

Kathryn was a 50-year member of the Eastern Star.  She died April 4, 2008 at Desert Rose Elder Care Center in Twentynine Palms, CA.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul, her parents and siblings.
